MY APPROACH…
My counselling philosophy is built on the relationship between myself and you. I am aware of the subjective truth each of us holds, and the importance of how gently this is explored, examined, and protected. At the heart of this philosophy is a genuine, compassionate approach which will allow you, perhaps for the first time, to express and explore yourself without fear or shame. I am curious and genuinely interested to understand you.
My therapy practice supports your investment in yourself to enable understanding, harmony, healing and change. Through this work, you will recognise the unconscious dynamics that run your life and how to liberate yourself from them. The Compassionate Inquiry approach is at the heart of how I work as a therapist.
Compassionate Inquiry Ⓡ (CI) is a psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr Gabor Maté that reveals what lies beneath the appearance we present to the world. Follow this link to understand more.
My work encompasses the body, enabling you to listen and care for it and understand its very subtle language to get to the core of your pain and challenges. Self-compassion is at the centre of my work. Often our self-destructive behaviours are symptoms of what lies beneath the surface. The triggers and emotions are the cause of our difficulties, not the behaviour itself.
